The Arkena coffee marketplace is a system built to overhaul the traditional way of sourcing smallholder coffee. It brings producers to the spotlight, who previously were occulted by middlemen, by connecting them directly with buyers overseas, creating a win-win situation for both parties. The system comprises three subsystems, i.e., Arkena admin, Arkana marketplace, and a field app, each of which is built as a micro service. The field app is used to gather producerβs information, which later will be fed into a sample and listed at the marketplace. The marketplace is where potential buyers can go through different options of coffee, giving them the chance to order a sample which allures them and track the process from start to finish. The Arkena admin is where the whole supply chain is monitored.
